Welcome to WAM Ecuador

Initiated on November 2006, WAM Ecuador is in complete adherence of the mission and values of WAM International, that is:

• Promotion and enhancement of microfinance and microenterprise in Ecuador.
• Support women professionals in the microfinance industry
• Empower women and their families
• Push for the inclusion of gender focus in the microfinance industry in Ecuador

On October 2007, the Members of WAM Ecuador approved its Bylaws.  On February 2008, the Bylaws of WAM Ecuador were officially registered by the Ecuadorian National Women Council (CONAMU).  The elected Officers of WAM-Ecuador are:

The Official Launch Event took place in Quito on Wednesday May 14, 2008, at the Roof Top Saloon of the Renazzo Plaza Building (Shyris y Suecia).  More than 100 women and men attended, representing a whole range of leaders of the MF Industry, including MFIs, representatives of the donor community, multilaterals, Regulators, practitioners, etc. 

Ms. Anne Folan attended such event as representative of the Executive Committee of WAM International.
