WAM (WAM CEE and NIS) Central and Eastern Europe and the New Independent States
The mission of WAM Central and Eastern Europe and the New Independent States is to advance and support women working in microfinance through education and training, by promoting leadership opportunities, and by increasing visibility of their participation and talent while maintaining a work/life balance.
Launched in May 2004, WAM CEE & NIS has the following goals:
- Train, educate and advise
- Help to develop relationships between women microfinance professionals and stimulate experience sharing
- Promote successful women professionals
- Develop strategies affecting social norms
Founding members include: Katarzyna Pawlak, Dorota Szubert, Justyna Pytkowska, Ewa Pawlak, Magda Kicinska, Inessa Ki.
WAM Central and Eastern Europe and the New Independent States (WAM CEE & NIS) is an informal association of women professionals working in microfinance in the region. It holds a meeting of its members and other like-minded individuals every year at the MFC annual conference. Throughout the year women meet in smaller informal groups, link with each other through e-mail or meet in person while traveling.
